|Advanced materials and technologies for sustainable construction|
|Co-organized with AIRI, EU SocKETs project
Chair: Andrea PORCARI, AIRI and SocKETs project
|Advanced materials and manufacturing processes, and their combination with digital technologies, have the potential to transform both processes and products, and relationships along the entire value and supply chain of the construction and built environment sector. The sectors are amongst the largest producers of waste and greenhouse gases globally and consume large amounts of non-renewable raw materials. They represent complex and fragmented innovation eco-system, strongly influenced by different actors, and struggle to innovate due to the entrenched use of traditional approaches and resistance to change, and fragmentation at various levels. There are growing cooperation and funding opportunities at national and EU level to drive more innovative and sustainable approaches in these sectors, and as well increasing activities from both research organizations and companies in the field.
Why attending the workshop? The session will showcase examples of state-of-the-art technological innovations, and co- creation, networking and funding initiatives aiming to promote cooperation and synergy amongst research, industry, policy makers and civil society actors to promote more competitive and sustainable approaches.
Who should attend? Researchers, companies, local, regional and national authorities, civil society organizations and other actors active and interested in the field.
