The role of Hydrogen in the energetic transition for the decarbonization of different sectors, from industrial processes to mobility, starting from the so called hard-to-abate sectors (in which electrification is not achievable) is foreseen in the European Roadmap towards the net-zero emissions targets. Hydrogen has been utilized in industrial processes since a century ago, in aerostat, in Fisher-Tropfch and Haber-Bosh processes for syntethic fuels and fertilizers production. Anyway, significative improvements in hydrogen production, storage, transport, and utilization still require Research and development activities.
