The electrochemical approach for innovation in energetics and industrial processing through the control of active materials at the nm level
Co-organized with ENEA, and Sapienza University of Rome
Chair: Danilo DINI, Sapienza University of Rome
In the last years it has emerged the centrality of the Electrochemical Science in the ambits of ecological transition, sustainability, circularity and decarbonisation through various types of research activities. These mostly involve the areas of electric energy production (electrochemical and fuel cells), storage (batteries), photogeneration (solar photoelectrochemical cells) as well as CO2 (electrochemical) reduction, synthesis (the electrical current being a feedstock in industrial processes), disposal/recycling processes via electrolysers, protecting treatments (electroplating) and sensing/imaging of electrochemical activity of surfaces. The most important developments in such areas are consequential to the progresses in the science of the nanomaterials for electrochemical applications. For this reason it appears appropriated to dedicate a topical session on electrochemistry at NANOINNOVATION, which focuses on the aspects of energetics and industrial processing considering the most recent developments in nanosciences. The contributors are internationally renowned scientists the interests of which span from advanced high-density solid-state batteries based on alkaline metals to electrochemical processing for environmental remediation and to surface treatments for trace analysis or metal protection/decoration.
